Guidelines for Submissions Minimize

Putting together an anthology is no easy endeavor.  With different authors and their unique styles, we're presented with a challenge under the best of circumstances.  However, because we are accepting stories by authors who have little or no writing experience, we're also faced with the wonderful task of taking ideas and devEchoes of Whiteeloping a story that accurately describes the very personal experiences of someone we've never met.

So, in order to streamline the process, we have instituted a few guidlines which are suggestions, not requirements.

  • Original stories only.  Please do not send someone else's story or an email you've received from someone else.
  • Although we have no strict guidelines as far as length of your story, please keep in mind that the long stories must grip the reader's attention and keep it or else your labor is in vain.  If we feel your story is too long or too "loose," we will trim it down to keep it flowing.
  • We retain the right to make minor editorial changes, if necessary.  If a significant amount of rework needs to be done to your story, we will contact you and work with you to develop the story into a format suitable for publication.  In some instances, we will "assign" a writer to work with you one-on-one to put your story into publishable format.  If you feel you need assistance, please let us know.  Do NOT withhold your submission because you are not a writer ... we will help you capture your story.
  • Please send your submissions as an attachment to an email in Word (2003 or 2007).  If you do not have Word, please use Notepad.   Please submit it in single-space, plain format with no special graphic effects. Using bold or italic is permissible.
  • We will accept a very few well-crafted poetry submissions.  However, we want this book to consist primarily of true stories that reveal God's power through work in the mission field, both domestic and international.
  • Include your background information in the form of a brief bio along with your mailing address.

Important Notice

By submitting your story or stories, please understand that you give us the right to publish your story.  However, we claim NO ownership to your work and you are free to submit your story or stories elsewhere.

We are not publishing this book for any other reason than to draw attention to the greatness of our God through the work of people like you and us ... servants who are willing to sacrificially minister His love to others away from home.  We feel God has called us to encourage authors to use their gifts, to make a way possible for missionaries to share their stories, and to bring glory to Him by doing so.  We are not publishing this book to promote us or this ministry; rather, we are compiling this anthology to point to Jesus and His merciful and miraculous work through ordinary people who dare to take Him at His Word.

Send your submissions to submission@echoesofwhite.com.  We will get back with you as soon as possible to discuss your submission.
